Ministry in Burma and Vietnam May &...

For Such a Time as This Jasmine Teaching and Elvis Translating Jasmine had a dream two years ago to bring “Hope Conferences” to youth leaders in Burma. On her first visit to this nation, she was deeply moved by the hopelessness that hung like a curtain over the nation. This angst birthed in her a desire to bring training, encouragement and the life of the Holy Spirit to youth leaders in remote parts of the nation, those seldom served by leadership conferences. We will reach over 200 youth leaders in three-day conferences, complete with food and time to network with...

Buy a Brick – Build a Life...

– Two years ago we began sponsoring the education of children in Myanmar. Tuition must be paid for each student, plus fees for books and uniforms. For many families, this is impossible.  Trusted national associates oversee our educational work with love, prayer and concern for each family and child.  This is part of their life calling. We are honored to share the vision and partner with men and women who love God and love the people of their nation. Some of our students live with their parents and receive tuition only. Others have come from remote areas of the nation...

Seeds of Hope...

Jesus loves everyone. I’ve felt his compassion while walking through crowded Asian cities amidst the chatter, the honking horns and the flashing neon. I’ve also felt his love for rural families, who grow food yet are barely able to feed themselves. Jesus loves the sinner and delivers from sin. Jesus also loves the poor. Does he care about their poverty? The gospel brings eternal salvation, but does it also have a response to poverty’s oppression? Our Part The work of Firefall International is expanding as an instrument of change. Evangelism, discipleship, leader development...

Bridges to Burma...

Since childhood I have been intrigued by bridges. Whether the small, swinging kind in the hills of Tennessee, the scary ones with see-through boards that spanned the creek on our farm in Kentucky, or the massive skeletons of the Golden Gate or Brooklyn bridges, they serve us by connecting what was formerly separated. People can be bridges too. I think of Jesus and how He came as the bridge for lost and broken humanity, to reconnect us with our loving Father. In our daily lives, every conversation, every act is a bridge to somewhere. Two years ago I sensed the Lord asking...

Nancy Goes Tea Tasting...

For many years Jim and I have enjoyed leading others on missions experiences. We are honored to be a bridge of connection for service, growth and expansion of vision. It is rewarding to see the Lord encourage and transform lives as He sends us out. An added joy is the growth we see in those who go with us. The world seems smaller while the desire to live for Kingdom priorities grows greater in those who invite this kind of stretching. Several months ago, a dear friend and worker in China asked me to come in September and lead a three day ladies conference for over 100 English...

Curious Eyes...

This little girl was quite intrigued by the strange man in her village with a camera (me). She stood next to her mother and the other members of the church choir as they sang songs to welcome Nancy and me to this remote spot in the majestic mountains of China. We had made the arduous journey to bring greetings and encouragement to these brave Christians. A Bible in Their Own Language In the year following this encounter, Firefall partners provided copies of the Bible to the members of this language group. For almost 100 years, people here had followed Jesus in the face of...
